Eating Disorder Therapy
It’s not always easy to ask for help with eating problems, or even to admit that you need support. At Aspen, we want to break the stigma around eating disorders and give you a safe, private space where you can focus on getting better. Eating disorders are not always about food – they often connect to deeper emotional struggles. They can affect anyone: children, teenagers, adults, older people, men, women, and non-binary people. We are here to support all of them.
We offer therapy for eating disorders at our clinic in Lucan, Co. Dublin, as well as through online counselling across Ireland. Our counsellors have experience helping people with many different types of eating disorders.

Frequently Asked Question
Eating disorder therapists help individuals overcome disordered eating by addressing harmful thoughts, emotions, and behaviours related to food and body image. They use evidence-based therapies like CBT, DBT, and Family-Based Therapy to build healthier habits, improve self-esteem, and manage triggers. They often work with dietitians and doctors as part of a care team and may also support and educate families, especially when treating adolescents.
Yes, both face-to-face and online sessions are available for our eating disorder counselling service, but we encourage face-to-face therapy if possible. However, we understand that sometimes online sessions are more practical. We can also offer a blended approach, comprising a mix of in-person and online counselling sessions.
